Accident On Highway 71 Kills One; Seriously Injures Another

in Auto Accidents

A deadly car accident in Kansas City early this morning killed one person and severely injured another.  The crash happened around 3 a.m. on northbound 71 Highway at Red Bridge Road in Kansas City, Mo.  Police say the accident was caused when the driver of one vehicle was driving at a very high rate of speed when the accident occurred.  The driver lost control of the vehicle and was ejected from the car when he collided with the median.  A second vehicle unable to avoid the wreckage collided with the first vehicle which also ejected the driver.  The accident caused the northbound lanes to be shut down for a few hours until they were finally re-opened some time after 7 a.m.  The survivor of the accident is at a local hospital with what police described as life threatening injuries.  It is unknown if alcohol was involved in either case.

When accidents like this happen, it is important to learn from the situation to prevent future accidents.  Speed limits are posted to keep everyone safe.  Even when we are out on the road, it’s late and no one else appears to be out with us, it can be especially important to obey these laws because we can become our own worst enemy.  Slow down and stay alert when driving late at night.  If you’ve had too much to drink call a cab or a friend or family member.  No matter what time of day, its better to be late than not make it at all.

The Kansas City personal injury attorneys at the Roswold Law Group wish our deepest sympathies for the victims involved in this mornings unfortunate accident.  If you or a loved one has been a victim of an alcohol related accident in Kansas or Missouri, contact the drinking and driving attorneys of the Roswold Law Group in Kansas City, MO. for a free consultation.
